The first lecture of the ESRALE Course of Lectures is about to start next week on Friday at the University of Kaiserslautern.
The first lecture will be given by Prof. Nuissl von Rein and will be about Professionalisation in the field of Adult Education and Lifelong Learning. This lecture is targeting at students within their master studuies of education, pedagogy or adult education. It also aims at professionals in the field of Professionalisation in the field of Adult Education and Lifelong Learning.
Professionalisation in the field of Adult Education and Lifelong Learning in general is a hot topic within most of the european member states, and of course also for the european commission. There is a big need to professionalize the staff working in adult education, to define the required competences and to find ways of qualification. There were several european projects in the past, mainly focused on academic path ways of qualification, amongst which was the study program EMAE, carried out by eight universities in eight european member states. The actual project ESRALE is related to the results of that project, provides a revised curriculum with now ten universities and is adding a research and doctoral school to the master program.
In this lecture will be given information on professionalisation in adult education in europe, will be explained the state of the art in this field, will be analysed the problems of professionalisation and shown some perspectives, partly related to the ESRALE – project.
Attending the lecture you will improve the following competences:
- Better Knowledge about the need of professionalisation in adult education
- Capability to analyse the needed competences in adult education
- Understanding of the different developments in european member states
- Awareness of the possible means and path ways of improving the situation
- Knowledge of the european dimension of adult education

The lecture is given by an outstanding expert in this field, Ekkehard Nuissl, German professor, working in this field on a european level since more than 20 years. It will be live streamed Friday 20th at 2 pm.
